$282 = ten girls' bus fare: how to read our project budgets

· The SFG team

Every SFG project page has a budget table. Here's how to read it.

Budgets are grouped into sections like travel, lodging, coaching, equipment, and operations, and each group holds line items in plain language. Every line says what it buys, for whom, and what it costs. If a line is fundable, there's a button to fund exactly that line.

Below the lines you'll see the honest math: the project total, what SFG covers from our own programming (so it never lands on donors), and the ask: the number we're actually fundraising.

Contingency is a line like any other. If we don't spend it, it stays with the project. When money is spent, the expense appears against its line, with receipts where available. That's the whole system: no black box, just a ledger you can read.
