Nepal Sport, Data & AI Clinic 2026
Kathmandu, Nepal (participants travel from Kapilvastu, Udaypur, Surkhet)

The story
Meet the girls this clinic is for. Twenty of them, aged 7 to 15, come from Kathmandu's Asha School and from Kapilvastu, a nine-to-eleven-hour bus ride away, where a girl's chance at structured sport or digital learning is almost none. Fifteen more come from the WE United academy. Thirty women from the wider network come to lead. And five to seven coaches, the multipliers, will take everything learned back into weekly sessions that reach an estimated 200+ girls a year. Over four days, mornings are on the futsal court: passing, teamwork, positional play, and honest conversations about leadership and sportswomanship. Afternoons move to the classroom, where AI stops being intimidating and becomes a game: girls train their own simple image-classifiers, act out how machines recognize movement, and learn to spot misinformation before they share it. It's sport and data, together, doing what neither does alone: building a girl who knows she's stronger than she was told. This is year one of a multi-year partnership between The WE United Project and Atoot Nepal. SFG covers the international trainers out of our own General Fund; your gift to this clinic covers the rest: the travel, the venue, the meals, the safeguarding, and the coaches' time.

- Budget math, shown honestly: direct program costs $10,289 + contingency 10% ($1,029) + admin overhead 8% ($823) = $12,141 grand total; minus the SFG-covered trainers ($4,966) = the $7,175 grant ask.
- SFG covers Category A (international trainers) from the General Fund, so gifts to this clinic go entirely to Categories B–E.
- Suggested tiers map to real lines: $282 covers all ten girls' bus fare, or one coach's stipend; $805 funds all of safeguarding and M&E; $1,530 funds all participant travel.
- 1 USD ≈ 149 NPR (indicative). Figures shown in USD and NPR.
- Reporting: pre/post surveys, consented photo and video, 3-month follow-up interviews, and a final narrative and financial report within 60 days. Safeguarding: named lead, signed child-protection policies, first aid and group insurance throughout.
SFG's role
E-learning curriculum and platform development; co-delivery of the clinic; documentation and reporting. WE United hosts and brings coaches and venue access; Atoot brings the Kapilvastu cohort, chaperoning, and follow-up. SFG covers Category A (international trainers, $4,966) from the General Fund, so gifts here go entirely to Categories B–E, the $7,175 grant ask.
